Do banjos have nine lives? This vintage Vega Professional is living it's second life as a 5-string resonator with a conversion neck by an unknown maker. The original 4-string tenor neck is included. The newer conversion two-piece maple neck has a dark back strap and center strip, a carved heel with an inlayed ebony heel cap. The pearl No.9-style inlays decorate the bound fretboard, and the headstock front and back. The maple rim has a bracket-band and individual flanges for the "pie-section" Vega resonator with tortoise-plastic binding. The notched tension hoop holds a 10-15/16" Waverly "Fiberskyn 2" head, which shows age and some play wear. It includes a newer hardshell case. On consignment.
