An early example of Martin's innovative X-bracing, now common among flattop guitars. This Martin Style 1-21 has stood the test of time, made from a solid spruce top, inlaid with a herringbone and black multi-stripe rosette, and black multi-stripe top purfling. Built with Brazilian rosewood sides and two-piece back with center marquetry strip inlaid. The 12-fret mahogany neck is fitted with an ebony fingerboard to match the ebony pyramid bridge. Featuring floral engraving on 3-on-a-plate tuning machines with ivoroid buttons. Made in USA. With newer Martin thermoplastic case included (blue lining). On consignment.
