  • This vintage Martin 00-42 acoustic guitar from 1921 remains in impressive condition even after 102 years. A limited run of only 12 models of this kind were produced by Martin in 1921. The guitar features an X-braced Adirondack spruce top and Brazilian rosewood back and sides. Recently, our shop conducted a neck reset and installed a new period-correct pyramid bridge and saddle to ensure its optimal performance. This remarkable instrument is in Very Good Condition Plus (VGC+).

  •  Ivoroid-bound body and fretboard
  •  12-fret mahogany neck with slotted headstock
  •  V-shaped neck profile
  •  There are some indentations on edges of back of neck (possibly from a capo)
  •  20-fret ebony fingerboard
  •  42-Style "snowflake" inlays
  •  Nut appears to be ivory
  •  Fretboard extension drops off quite a bit after 12th fret
  •  Abalone top purfling, including around fingerboard extension
  •  Abalone soundhole rosette
  •  Replacement "pyramid" ebony bridge
  •  Brazilian rosewood peghead overlay
  •  Martin hot stamp on back of peghead
  •  2 small holes in back of headstock (probably from a wall hanger)
  •  Waverly 3-on-a-plate tuners with "Irish Rose" design and ivoroid buttons
  •  Mosaic backstrip
  •  1-7/8" nut, ~24-7/8" scale
  •  14-1/4" lower bout, 4" body depth at end block
