An American Classic that was introduced in 1942. With some TLC from our shop, it has been returned to its former glory. This Gibson LG-2 from 1947 has a sunburst X-braced Adirondack spruce top, and brown stained mahogany back, sides and neck. It has a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge with new bone saddle. And has a teardrop tortoise plastic pickguard and 3-on-a-plate riveted tuners with new white buttons. We think this guitar was completed a 2-3 years earlier when Adirondack was still available, and shipped out in 1947. Adirondack supplies were drying up around 1944 as it was used inside planes during WWII. Includes recent Martin hardshell case. Made in Kalamazoo, USA.
