Experience the Elderly Difference

This fine Loar-period mandolin was completed at a time when Gibson was experimenting with 3 color sunburst and Finish Shop Foreman Fred Miller was developing his "Cremona Brown" finish. This finish is transitional from the 2-color red sunburst. Some of these have a more pronounced red / yellow / brown look than the later "Cremona Brown" ones from 1922 - 24. This Gibson F-4 has tons of vintage vibe with its double bound 2 point body. Carved spruce top, oval soundhole, and triple ring rosette. It has figured maple sides and a carved back. 2-piece mahogany neck with a bound ebony fretboard. Other features include an ebony bridge with rare compensated aluminum saddle. Bound headstock with double flowerpot inlay and "The Gibson" logo. Waverly 4-on-a-plate tuners with ivoroid buttons. Original shaped hard shell cover. Built in Kalamazoo, USA. On consignment.
