Experience the Elderly Difference

Nashville "Guitar Aces" Billy Byrd and Hank Garland had the idea for this guitar and worked with Gibson to develop the model which incorporates "Byrd" and "Land" into the model name.  Basically a thinline version of an L-5 CES. Sought after for its appointments and style, this "Byrdland" was originally designed in 1955 with a thinner body for better feedback control, and with a short 23-1/2" scale and narrow neck for better playability and speed. This example from 1976 is made from a carved spruce top, with maple sides, back, and set neck. The ebony fingerboard is inlaid with mother-of-pearl blocks, and the bridge base  with stylized "wing" inlays. The ebony peghead overlay features a pearl Flowerpot inlay. Appointments include multi-stripe binding and purfling. Vintage hardware includes dual Gibson humbucking pickups, Trapeze tailpiece, and Kluson Sealfast tuners. Newer (but non-original) Gibson hardshell case included. Made in Kalamazoo, MI, USA. On consignment.

Condition Notes: A few dings and wear on top, some wear on the gold hardware.
