  • Bracket band with 28 brackets
  • Whyte Laydie tone ring, grooved tension hoop
  • Dowel stick stamped "WHYTE LAYDIE" and "NO 2" and "21510"
  • Makers plate reads "The A.C. FAIRBANKS Co. / MAKERS / BOSTON, MASS."
  • 1-1/4" nut, ~27-1/8" scale, 22 frets
  • Dark center stripe and heel band, ebony heel-cap
  • Ivoroid-bound ebony fingerboard (a couple repair / splices)
  • B-w-b fretboard purfling
  • Engraved No.2 style fretboard inlays, star at 5th fret
  • Gryphon engraved pearl peghead inlay with star and floral inlay
  • Heel is repaired with new wood and ebony heel cap added
  • Ebony headstock overlay (dry damage, cracks, and repairs)
  • Champion friction tuners (possibly newer, with cream plastic buttons)

This Whyte Laydie was made shortly before the Fairbanks factory fire and sale to Vega. The 10-15/16" tortoise plastic bound maple pot has a bracket band sporting 28 brackets. The two-piece maple neck has an ivoroid bound ebony fingerboard with engraved pearl position inlays. Headstock features the classic Gryphon inlay, along with star and floral inlays. Vintage-style hardware throughout includes Champion friction tuners, and a No Knot tailpiece. Includes modern hardshell case. Made in USA.
