Dorothy is a simply-styled openback banjo with ash neck & rim with contrasting bubinga fretboard. Rim uses a wooden flange instead of metal bracket shoes for light weight. The Brass hoop tone ring gives a satisfying and mellow tone.
Andy Denny uses North American hardwoods (locally grown when possible) for the neck and rim, US-made hardware, and he makes his own tension hoops. He names each banjo -- Dorothy is one of a kind
