The Collings 470 JL is the result of years-long conversations, engineering, testing, tweaking, playing, and listening. And then doing it all over again until it was right. The goal was hollow body resonance and weight with solid body resistance to feedback. The fully hollow trestle block mahogany body has a laminated maple top. Neck shape is a symmetrical C/V hybrid with 1-11/16" nut. With Ron Ellis pickups, 2 tone controls, one volume, Bigsby vibrato and Waverly tuning gears.
