A reproduction of a tailpiece originally designed by player/builder Fred Van Eps in the early 20th Century, and later modifed for five string banjo by Peter Colby. Crafted in Pennsylvania. Maker says: "Presses the strings down toward the banjo head while stretching them almost to the width of the bridge. It creates a greater angle against the bridge for better sound and stability."
