A Chanterelle from the Appomattox era, this unique Mike Ramsey 5-string banjo features a sinker maple multi-ply rim, made of material from Timeless Timber. Recovered from the depths of Lake Superior, this source of sinker hardwood is no longer available as this company closed around 2014. So any banjo rims like this are scarce. This 11" pot is extra deep with a block-style rosewood rim-cap, a Bacon-style tone ring, hide head, and was labeled and signed by Mike. It is paired to a figured maple two-piece neck with ebony fretboard. Appointments include Five Star Planet tuners, an armrest, and inlays of pearl and abalone. Includes hardshell case. Made in USA. On consignment.
