A nice example of Gibson's foundational A-style oval-hole mandolin. Modest appointments on this A model, with a carved spruce top in the pumpkin finish. Has birch back and sides, and a mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard that has pearl dot inlays. Bound top and soundhole with a rope-pattern single ring rosette. Also has an ebony fixed bridge, Gibson tailpiece and new celluloid tortoise pickguard. No truss rod during this era. Period hardshell case. Made in Kalamazoo, MI.

- Black peghead overlay on paddle headstock
- Nickel 4-on-a-plate tuners with ivoroid buttons
- Cast tailpiece with engraved cover, reads "The Gibson"
- Ebony fixed bridge reads "PAT. SEP. 21 '09" (has one extra hole)
- New celluloid tortoise pickguard (installed by our shop)
- Period hardshell case (faded purple lining)
