Warranty Information
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTIES
Elderly Instruments is an authorized dealer for all new instruments that we stock. Most new instruments have warranties from the manufacturers or distributors, and those warranties apply when purchased from us.
ELDERLY INSTRUMENTS LIMITED WARRANTY (NEW INSTRUMENTS)
We guarantee that all NEW instruments purchased from us will remain free from defects in material and workmanship for a limited period of no less than 90 days and up to one year from the purchase date. This is in addition to the manufacturers' guarantees.
ELDERLY INSTRUMENTS LIMITED WARRANTY (USED)
USED instruments purchased from us (except as noted below) are guaranteed to remain free from defects in materials and workmanship for 30 days from the purchase date. If found to be defective within the 30 day period, we will repair any such instrument. Exceptions include consignment instruments and those in AS-IS condition.Consignments are used instrument that we sell for individuals. When we provide this service, those instruments have no extended warranty when they have been sold by us.
Instruments sold “AS-IS” have not been set up by our repair shop and do not come with the Elderly warranty. We are thorough about our instrument descriptions, but our describers are not luthiers. All major concerns are addressed, but not every single flaw or non-original part may be documented. While most problems can be obvious, some only become apparent as work progresses. For best results, we recommend working with a professional luthier. Instruments sold AS-IS may be returned, but the buyer will be responsible for all shipping, handling and insurance costs.
The following are not included in our guarantee: harmonicas, strings, banjo heads, tremolo re-adjustments, checked finishes (which are the result of extreme temperature and/or humidity changes), and damage resulting from abuse, accident, or improper use. We strongly recommend use of a humidifier in your stringed instruments, particularly during the dry winter months.
