  • Vienna style contra guitar 
  • 12 strings 
  • Small jumbo body (15-3/4" lower bout) 
  • Spruce top with round soundhole
  •  Ladder braced top 
  • Sycamore back and sides 
  • 6-string guitar neck and 6 string sub bass neck 
  • Ebonized maple bridge (has been cut down on guitar side, missing bridge pins) 
  • Both necks have solid headstocks 
  • Necks are joined at headstock and at body with one large "ice cream cone" heel 
  • There is a heel crack on the treble side of the guitar neck 
  • The headstocks are bridle jointed ("birds beak" joint) where they meet the necks 
  • Violin peg tuners were used on both necks (most are missing) 
  • This guitar features a wooden center bar (similar to a dowel stick in a banjo) 
  • Wood body bindings and purflings 
  • 1-23/32" nut on guitar neck, ~25-7/8" scale 
  • 1-21/32" on sub neck, ~26-1/2" scale 
  • Guitar is stamped inside "Dominik Lilschaner / Uhrmacher / Allentsteig, N.-Ost." 
  • We believe this was built in Lower Austria based on this stamp (which is where Allentsteig is) 
  • NO CASE 
  • *FC but needs restoration (double neck reset, new bridge, re-fret, repair cracks, binding, etc. - sold AS-IS)

Interesting guitar! This one would make a cool art piece or labor of love project.  Mid to later 19th Century construction styles. We believe this was built in Lower Austria. NO CASE.  FC,  but needs restoration (double neck reset, new bridge, re-fret, repair cracks, binding, etc. - sold AS-IS).
