New to Choro? Start here first.
I've used Mike's books since the first edition, what, 10 years ago? This is *the* book for North American mandolin and other melody players to start with. Basic chords for your guitarists to also use. You can eventually graduate to the Chediak white books, but I always recommend Mike's first, since most players I've run into here in the States will know many of these tunes, or have this book with them at choro jam sessions, known as "rodas". Mike and a group of his hand picked musical friends have put a lot of effort into making this "correct". Reward their efforts and buy this book. Review by Al B in PT / (Posted on 3/12/2018)
Great for experienced and beginners alike!
I have been performing a couple years with a choro group (Pandeiro+DblBass+Vibes+Clarinet+Oboe+Guitar) in NW Tenn using exclusively this book, and now we are using it to start a course at the local college. Great charts. Well compiled. Thanks for the hard work! Review by the27man / (Posted on 7/12/2017)
