P.H. Holmes (1884)
Made in Garddiner, Maine, 1884, fantastic workmanship throughout, two piece back of strongly flamed maple, raised black inlay in place of usual purfling, very luminous orange varnish, foliate carving around pegbox which is crowned with a terrific carving of a young woman in a feathered hat with long hair streaming behind, label inside treble f-hole, several repaired cracks on top, back and sides, sounds fairly decent as well, with old funky but cool oblong HSC (handle missing)
A great setup can make a world of difference. This instrument has been thoroughly inspected and expertly set up to play comfortably and sound its best.
