  • Very late example of this version of the Duo Jet
  • SN 13852
  • c.1958-59
  • VG-EC (minor body cracks repaired at cutaway)
  • Gloss black finish
  • Bound maple top
  • Mahogany body
  • Mahogany neck has been refinished and reset
  • Binding on treble side of fretboard may have been replaced with period correct binding
  • We believe the neck refinish happened long after the reset 
  • Some major re-shaping of heel has taken place
  • Fretboard extension is shorter than normal due to neck reset
  • Bound ebony fingerboard with zero fret, thumbprint inlays
  • W-b-w-b pickguard (faint sticker shadows possibly from applied decal letters)
  • 2 DeArmond pickups 
  • Master volume and 2 pickup volume pots dated 20th week of 1953
  • Master tone pot replaced and dated 24th week of 1960
  • 3-way toggle switch on upper bass bout
  • Bigsby vibrato tailpiece installed (original "G" tailpiece in case)
  • Gretsch “Space Control” Roller bridge 
  • Bound peghead features overlay with T-roof “GRETSCH” logo
  • Open gear tuners
  • 1-21/32" nut, ~24-1/2" scale
