Popular high grade banjo during the roaring 1920s jazz age. This model of the Sultana was one of B&Ds most popular models. Many things happened with popular culture in the in 1920s. The arts, music and movies were popular entertainment. The Silverbell tone ring provides a bright projecting tone and lots of clarity. Excellent construction and beautiful appointments helped make Fred Bacon and Daniel Day's banjos very popular. Built in the U.S.A. With gigbag. VGC+ except (would benefit from a dowel stick reset, fretwork, etc. - plays okay - sold AS-IS).

- 2-piece maple neck with 3-piece center strip
- Sunburst pearloid laminate on back of resonator with etched rings
- Integral f-hole flange
- 1/2" maple rim with pearloid covering
- Black-bound 19-fret etched pearloid fingerboard
- Shim at end of fingerboard
- "B&D / Sultana / I / Silver/ Bell" etched on peghead overlay
- Fancy etched pearloid on peghead underlay
- Newer replacement Plantary-style tuners with ivoroid buttons
- 11" 5-Star plastic head installed
- Silver Bell tone ring
- Notched tension hoop
- 24 L-Shaped brackets and hooks
- Oettinger tailpiece (two changed adjustment screws)
- 1-1/8" nut, ~22-3/4" scale
- Dowel stick stamped "Made by / The BACON BANJO Co. Inc. / GROTON CONN. USA"
- Plaque on resonator reads "STYLE No.1 / B&D SILVERBELL / The BACON BANJO Co. Inc. Groton Conn."

- Knee mute pedal has been removed
- Inside of rim and dowel stick appear over sprayed
- Currently in Chicago tuning DGBE
