Bacon & Day Sultana Silver Bell No. 1 Tenor Banjo (c.1940-42)
Natural finished 2-piece flamed maple neck with center strip (replacement dowel stick has been notched and shimmed to align the neck), pearloid covered maple rim and resonator, integral "clover leaf" flange, white-bound 19 fret pearloid covered fingerboard with engraved floral position markers, ~10-15/16" plastic head, 24 brackets, Silver Bell tone ring, B&D soft pedal knee mute (knee lever possibly replated), fancily engraved headstock overlay reads "B&D / SULTANA / I / SILVER BELL," newer Planetary style tuners, fancy pearloid headstock underlay and back strapping, replacement tailpiece and armrest, ~22-7/8" scale, 1-1/16" nut, currently strung for "Chicago tuning" D, G,B,E, thumbscrews have been modified, with newer brown faux snakeskin HSC (burgundy lining), VG-EC except could use some work (remove neck shims and refit, dress frets, restring and setup, etc. - sold AS-IS)
