Northfield Workshops' Big Mon mandolins feature larger bodies and f-holes for more mids, more bass, and increased volume with less effort. This model is built with an Adirondack (red) spruce top and figured Northeastern red maple back, sides, and neck. It sports a top-quality hand-rubbed spirit varnish finish and violin varnish neck with a very thin lacquer topcoat for protection. Other notable details include a James tailpiece, 1-1/8" nut width, traditional neck shape with a very soft V against the palm, and a radiused ebony fingerboard with genuine mother-of-pearl dot position markers.
