A handsome early 20th century mandolin, this Gibson A-4 Snakehead has a carved spruce top with a red sunburst finish and a bound oval soundhole. The maple sides and back feature a cherry stain. Appointments include a rope pattern/ivoroid soundhole rosette, a logo tailpiece, and 4-on-a-plate tuners. A newer adjustable bridge has been installed.
