Made in Fort Worth, Texas, by noted violin maker Joseph Stamps, this number 2593 violin is a Guarneri model. It has a two-piece back of nicely flamed maple and a dark red-brown varnish that has some crazing. This instrument has a medium-dark, fairly smooth tone and plays very easily. It is signed on the label with a further dedication written in pencil on the inside back. Other features include ebony fittings with a Pusch-style tailpiece that has built-in tuners, and it’s equipped with Helicore strings. This violin is in very good condition
except for a repaired bass f-hole wing crack. Includes older shaped hardshell case (in OK shape, but a good bit of wear and small support piece missing inside) and case cover. Consignment.
