It is not a singalong or jam-along – Joel Mabus will teach you how to play, or accompany with chords, several of the classic Christmas-time songs for your own holiday music making. The holidays are a wonderful time to be making music! Open to all guitar players from “advanced beginner” to “enthusiastic intermediate” and beyond.

Ever notice how some old familiar Christmas Carols are way easier to sing than to accompany on guitar? What is that missing chord? What kind or rhythm is this? What are all those weird chords to “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire.” What key is “Lu-lay, Lu-Lay” in?

This workshop will get you in shape and ready for the season. We will focus on the chords and appropriate picking/strum patterns to a big basketful of familiar carols and seasonal songs.

Open to all guitar players from “advanced beginner” to “enthusiastic intermediate” and beyond. That means you know most of the major and minor chords (including F) and some sevenths, etc. You can keep up a steady strum or fingerpicking rhythm and you have more than a few songs under your belt. If that sounds like you, come join us! Handouts will be given and recording devices welcome.
