"Be one of the cool kids!" Once again we're tickled to welcome Ben Hassenger, Michigan's Ukulele Ambassador and founder of the Mighty Uke Day festival, back for another go-round with the "instrument of the 21st century!"

This is a four-session course that will get you up to cruising speed on ukulele in one month! Take them individually or as a series for best results.

Ben will host a class every Thursday evening, starting on October 26 with an intro to the uke for absolute beginners - with each successive session easing you to the next level. This is the FOURTH and last of FOUR sessions, entitled "Uke the Beatles!" (see below for a synopsis of each class). Remember, you can sign up for all four or any combination of these as you wish!

Here's a synopsis (every Thursday at 7 pm):

October 26 "Class One: Ukulele 101" Learn the basics of the uke, including: parts of the instrument, tuning, beginning chords, and simple songs to get you used to chording and strumming. (Beginner) Register for this class here.

November 2 "Class Two: Play (Almost) Every Song in the World" What do songs like "Last Kiss," "Where Have All the Flowers Gone," "With or Without You," and "Poker Face" have in common? They all use the same four chords! Learn to play every song ever written (well, 90% of them, anyway) with these four fantastic chords and find out how to switch keys easily by using the Nashville Numbering System. (Beginner to confident beginner) Register for this class here.

November 9 "Class Three: Become One with the Strum" Learning to play a variety of strums makes your playing more interesting to you and your audience. We'll explore folk, calypso, rock, polka, ska, and reggae strums along with the incredibly versatile "Benstrum" using some of your favorite songs. (Confident beginner) Register for this class here.

November 16 "Class Four: Uke the Beatles" Beatles songs sound great on the ukulele and we'll play an array of Fab Four tunes from simple to sophisticated, using an assortment of strums and chords. (Confident beginner) Register for this class here.
