ADDSTRING MODULAR SYSTEM - Back in 2007 Roger McGuinn teamed-up with C.F. Martin & Co. for a signature model 7-string guitar; the 7th string being an octave G string. This allowed McGuinn to have in one guitar an instrument that allowed him to capture a very significant essence of the twelve-string guitar while maintaining the clean bass runs and the high-end clarity of a six-string guitar. All-in-all a fine instrument. Now Addventor, a Netherlands based company, has developed an effective, fully patented system for easily converting most 6-string acoustic guitars to a 7-string. And the only permanent physical alteration to your guitar is the additional string slot cut into the nut. This is a well designed modular system, with very clear installation instructions (you can watch the installation video here on our web site). They have even included a soundhole mounted muting device so that so can silence the 7th string and easily go back to the six-string sound. Nicely done. We have one mounted on a guitar here in our showroom, so try it out the next time you're in.

great little gadget
Mine came in the mail Saturday morning, so right after lunch I sat down to install it. To be honest, I broke a string ( the added string) but I think it was an error in my installation. Once I got a new string seated properly, it sounds great and stays in tune! The tuning gear that is supplied appears to be very high quality and precise. All the items you need are in the tin, which is nice. I have an open mic and a gig coming up, will be using this guitar with this extra G string on it.
It really rings out and sounds great.
I Love it!
I've had one on my Eastman E8D for over a year now and I love playing this guitar! As a songwriter and fingerstyle player, the richness is inspiring! I can honestly say that the modification took less than 10 minutes! It could not be simpler! You will not be disappointed with this product!
