Michigan craftsman Gary Zimnicki, in conjunction with Reclaim Detroit Construction, has used salvaged 100+ year old wood from a deconstructed Detroit home to make a wonderful uke. The top is made from a Douglas fir ceiling joist, while the back and sides were made from maple floorboard. This uniquely Michigan instrument offers the warmth, volume, and tone that comes only with the use of well-aged tonewoods. More details...
