TUT TAYLOR "THE TREASURE AT RED BUTTE" RESOPHONIC TENOR GUITAR (c.1990)TUT TAYLOR "THE TREASURE AT RED BUTTE" RESOPHONIC TENOR GUITAR (c.1990) EC++, custom instrument made by Dobro legend Tut Taylor with Mark Taylor, Greg Rich and others, for Tut's personal collection. This is a one-of-a-kind tenor with a unique southwestern snake theme. It has a classic resophonic tenor guitar size body with spider cone and (real) snakeskin covered poinsettia coverplate, gold-plated screenholes with engraving in the edges, candy apple red painted top, sides and neck, white-bound top and back, multi-colored (green-red-silver) trim around body edges, painted snakeskin pattern on body sides extending to the neck heel (with rattle painted on heel) and on the back of the headstock, wood-burned and painted body back shows a large rattlesnake coiled in the rocks among jewels (multicolored rhinestones) and around a jeweled cross, surrounded by canyons and a colorful sky. The neck has a real snakeskin covered fretboard, bound in white with multicolored purfling as on the body, pearloid headstock with "Tut Taylor Resophonic" logo and a REAL snake head with exposed fangs (and dripping venom) and gold Waverly double ring banjo tuners with pearloid buttons. The tailpiece is gold plated and with a hand-carved snake head covering it. Included is a hard shell case made by Tut, with a depiction of the same snake burned into the wood on the top.
