VG-EC, this is a very rare bird indeed! A 1930's 12" rim from Gibson is virtually unheard of, and this instrument was undoubtedly some kind of custom order or experimental model. It features a 12" wood rim (29/32" thickness) with a 2-piece archtop tone ring (with 33 holes of 2 different sizes), tube and 4-piece flat plate flange, gold hardware, 26 brackets, with a First Quality 5-string neck (sunburst curly maple with ivoroid-bound rosewood fretboard, Flying Eagle inlays on neck and peghead, 2-band "GROVER PAT." tuners with mother-of-pearl tuners -- one modern repro tuner -- and modern geared 5th peg).
