DVD - INSTRUMENTAL INNOVATORS: EPISODE 2, BOB TAYLOR by Bob Taylor: Bob Taylor was born in 1955 in Oakland, California. As an adolescent, he entered industrial-arts competitions at state fairs, earning several awards. While attending high school, he coveted a 12-string guitar in a music store window, and, knowing it was beyond his means, determined to build one from scratch. He hand-built his first three guitars in wood shop classes, working on them at night in the back of a service station, in-between filling gas tanks and wiping windshields. After graduating in 1973, he got a job making guitars at the American Dream Musical Instrument Manufacturing shop, where he met Kurt Listug. He never looked back. Includes extensive interviews with Taylor and a Taylor-led factory tour. 95 min.
