The Copper Family is revered among fans of British traditional music. This farming family from the village of Rottingdean, Sussex, has passed down scores of beautiful songs -- and an unusual style of a cappella harmony singing -- for seven generations. Bob Copper and his cousin Ron were recorded in the 1950s and early 60s by folklorist Peter Kennedy; those recordings appeared on a 1964 Folk-Legacy LP and now make up most of this long-awaited CD reissue. A special bonus is the inclusion of several rare tracks with Bob's father Jim and uncle John. The package includes two booklets with almost 100 pages of photos, lyrics, and commentary about the Coppers and their music.
