This one's a long-time Elderly favorite -- and one of the most engaging collections of traditional Irish jigs, reels and slow airs available. Former All-Ireland champ Mary Bergin recorded this album in 1980 for Ireland's Gael-Linn label, accompanied by De Danann's Alec Finn on bouzouki and Johnny "Ringo" McDonagh on bodhran and bones. Irish music has taken many twists and turns since, but this recording remains as a delightful, unadorned expedition into the land of Irish tunes, on one of the genre's most expressive and intimate instruments.
