She appeared on a mere three tantalizing cuts on a classic anthology of Appalachian music issued in 1956, and a couple of her pieces were transcribed in one of Happy Traum's fingerstyle guitar books. This constituted the entire commercial output of this legendary guitarist until this album, made when she was 78: this was, incredibly, her first solo recording. Beautiful fingerpicked Piedmont style blues guitar by a great old-time master. A treasure!!
