- D-size body of top quality mahogany with Adirondack spruce top, scalloped top braces, tortoise binding & pickguard, ebony fretboard with dot inlays, 25 1/2" scale, 1 3/4" nut width, nickel Waverly vintage tuners, pearl Collings logo in peghead. Archtop wooden hardshell case. Body finish is varnish, neck is lacquered. NOTE: A varnish finish is thinner than nitrocellulose lacquer (the standard Collings finish). Its flexibility enhances the guitar's tone. It is not as hard as lacquer however, and is more easily damaged or worn off.
