NEW - This reissue commemorates the very first dreadnought guitar, designed by Martin for the Oliver Ditson Company of New York in 1916. Like the originals, the peghead is slotted and the neck meets the body at the 12th fret. Pickguard and rosette are the vintage design. Mahogany back and sides, Adirondack spruce top with scalloped Golden Era style braces, Brazilian rosewood binding, backstrip & endpiece, multi-layered black/maple soundhole rosette, ebony pyramid bridge, tortoise pickguard. Modified V-shape neck, ebony fretboard (1-7/8" nut, 25.4" scale), abalone dot position inlays, slotted headstock with Brazilian rosewood veneer (no decal, inlay, or stamp), Waverly/Sloane 3-on-plate gears with ivoroid buttons. Fossil ivory nut & saddle, gloss finish including neck, aging toner on top. Inside label signed by C.F.Martin IV. 540V case has vintage style latches.
