Vintage style D-18 honors Del McCoury's 50 years of influence on bluegrass music. Only 50 will be made. Modelled after McCoury's veteran 1947 guitar. D-size, solid mahogany back and sides, Adirondack spruce top, 5/16" scalloped braces in the standard position, tortoise body binding, old Style 18 rosette, ebony bridge with long drop-in bone saddle, Delmar tortoise pickguard. One-piece mahogany neck, full thickness V-shape profile, 30's style heel with ebony cap, bone nut (1-11/16"), ebony fretboard (25.4" scale), old Style 18 abalone position dots, Madagascar rosewood headplate with Golden Era decal, Waverly tuning gears with oval buttons. Special inside label reads "Celebrating 50 Years of Del McCoury" is signed by McCoury and numbered in sequence with total. Geib style hardshell case #545E, MSP4200 strings.
