A former Hohner National Blues Harmonica Champion, Lil' Rev is a master at getting people started on the harmonica - you'll learn to play the harmonica in 90 minutes or your money back!
The workshop will explore hand position, tremolo, train patterns, single note, puckering, tongue blocking, simple folk songs, major scale, intro to bending notes and much more. This class was offered in 2010 to much delight so we decided to offer it again this year!
Bring a Key of C diatonic harmonica and a willingness to learn! And please feel free to bring your recording devices too.
A staff and customer favorite, Lil' Rev has performed and taught at our store for so long he's practically a member of the family, and a list of his satisfied students would fill a phone book. While he is hopelessly Midwestern, his frequent travels find him teaching and touring all over the continental U.S. His many unique niches include one-man shows of Jewish Cultural History (Jews of Tin Pan Alley, Jews `N' Blues), Scraps of Quilting Music (A Celebration of Quilting Lore and History in America), Yiddish Song & Story, Harmonica Workshops for Kids and Adults, Ukulele Festivals and Workshops, Songwriter, Storyteller, Music History Lectures at Elderhostels, and much, much more.
Currently, Lil' Rev writes instructional books for Hal Leonard Publishing, presents clinics all over the U.S. and tours internationally as a performer of time-honored classics.
Playing harmonica is fun! Come by and get started with the one-and-only Lil' Rev.
