During the 70s, Rob played 5 string banjo for Roy McGuiness and the Sunnysiders, and through the 80s, worked with many groups, playing Texas Swing, including Casey Clark and the Lazy Ranch Boys.

Besides playing bluegrass and swing, he also played solo fingerstyle jazz, rock and blues, and recently was featured as a soloist on Maria Muluar's album, Naughty, Bawdy and Blue. Rob was also featured in the February issue of "Just Jazz Guitar Magazine", and is a popular Youtube instructor.
