Bluegrass Banjo Workshop

with Casey Henry

Wednesday, August 07, 2002
12:00 am
Location: Elderly Instruments
workshop ($30.00)

From Nashville TN, Casey is one of the most respected banjo players in bluegrass today. She has a highly acclaimed solo CD, "Real Women Drive Trucks", and currently plays in the Jim Hurst Band and Uncle Earl. This two hour banjo workshop will be geared toward beginning and intermediate players. The content will be determined by student interests. Possible topics for discussion include playing with other people, vamping, backup, capos, playing up the neck, playing in 3/4 time, playing out of C position, tone, taste, timing, learning by ear, hearing chord changes, the evils of tablature, student questions (come with lots of questions!), and anything else Casey happens to think of on the spur of the moment. Space is limited for all workshops, so early registration is encouraged. Register in person at Elderly Instruments (1100 N. Washington, Lansing), or by phone (with credit card) at (517)372-7890
