Reverse Listening-Improving your ability to play with others. In this discussion we will examine the role of the guitar player in relating to an external source. Providing effective backup in various styles will be covered This would include; playing with a metronome, playing along with a record, playing in a band, or with a single accompanist. Here we learn some techniques for "locking in" with another time source. Instead of reciting our part, we learn to listen to what the other person is doing first, then fill in the blanks with what we know. Here the idea is to get beyond mechanics, and play actual music.
